Die Wohnkrassen und das Leben im Wohnmobil: Da normale Wohnungen unerschwinglich sind (Mieten oft über $2.000 bis $5.000), leben zehntausende arbeitende Menschen in Wohnmobilen und Caravans.

Roy (64), ein Mechaniker, lebt in einem gebrauchten Wohnwagen, um nicht mehr auf der Straße schlafen zu müssen.

Obdachlosigkeit und die Drogenkrise: Im berüchtigten Viertel Skid Row und auf den Straßen kämpfen Zehnt

ausende um das Überleben. Neben Fentanyl breitet sich zunehmend die billige Tierdroge Xylazine ("Zombie-Droge") aus, die zu schweren Gewebeschäden, Nekrosen und Amputationen führt. Freiwillige Helfer wie der Friseur James und Straßenarzt Daniel versuchen zu unterstützen.

Bandenkriege und Kriminalität: In ärmeren Vororten wie Carson und Compton herrscht ein erbitterter Krieg zwischen den Bloods und den Crips. Viele Bewohner ziehen weg,

I was born in Los Angeles to working class parents in 1982. I'm grateful for that because this documentary has shown me that if I had been born in 2022 instead of 1982, my parents would have had to earn half a million a year to give me the standard of living we enjoyed back then. Hard work used to be so much more profitable...

I like how this documentary showed us how the 3 women that lived in one of the richest neighborhoods in LA were walking their block, and then the extreme contrast of the 3 guys walking in the poorest neighborhood in LA on their block. Same but very different.

I lived there for 13 yrs! The best part was all the concerts/ shows I saw. But yeah I was paycheck to paycheck. I had too much pride to go to a food bank so I would live on rice ,beans, ramen or a bag of potatoes to make it through. Then I got my license to drive semi trucks and haven’t been happier ! I haven’t paid rent to nobody in 7 years 🤠
